• Interpret technical design specifications and translate them into production instructions
• Work with pattern cutters and machinists to ensure garments are produced correctly
• Conduct fit sessions- assessing prototype garments on models and identifying adjustments
• Develop tech packs- the technical documents that communicate every detail of a garment to manufacturers
• Monitor quality throughout the production process
• Solve production problems- when a garment is not working, the fashion technologist figures out why and fixes it

Level 4 — Fashion Design Technology (Certificate):

At Level 4, the focus on Styled Garments Production (300 hours) builds the deep, practical production knowledge that is the foundation of fashion technology. You learn to produce complex garments to a professional standard, the baseline skill for any fashion technologist.

Level 5 — Fashion Design Technology (Craft):

Level 5 adds the theoretical and analytical layer: Textile Material Principles (understanding how fabrics behave), Pattern Construction and Grading (the technical backbone of production), and Fashion Design and Sketching (the design language technologists need to communicate with designers). Together, these skills define the fashion technologist’s professional profile.
