Every day, talented young people across Kenya and East Africa face the same barrier: cost. They have the drive, the creativity and the potential but not the KES 13,000 a month for training fees, or the KES 4,500 for the starter kit of tools and materials they need on day one.

When they cannot afford to start, the talent never develops. The businesses never launch. The jobs those businesses would have created never exist.

A sponsorship or donation to Delight Technical College changes the arithmetic for a specific person, and it starts working immediately.

What your gift does

A full annual sponsorship- KES 132,000 puts one student through a year of full-time Fashion and Design training. They graduate with a nationally examined qualification, a portfolio, a network and a path forward. Many launch their own tailoring or design businesses. Many hire others.

An annual Media and AI sponsorship- KES 111,000 covers a full year in Film Production, Digital Journalism or Artificial Intelligence.

A part-time annual sponsorship- KES 102,000 (Fashion) or KES 96,000 (Media and AI) supports a working student balancing a job with evening training. These are often our most motivated learners.

A weekend-mode sponsorship- KES 78,000 is the most affordable full-year pathway in either school.

A semester sponsorship- KES 57,000 to 69,000 covers six months, enough for a student to complete an artisan or certificate qualification and move into work.

An admission gift- KES 8,500 covers a student’s complete one-time entry cost: registration, ID card and branded T-shirt, starter pack, bag and locker, equipment maintenance and student activity fee.

A starter kit gift- KES 4,500 provides the needles, scissors, fabric, thread and tools a student needs on day one. Without it they begin the term already behind.

An examination gift- KES 8,000 covers one national examination fee to TVET CDACC or NITA. A student who completes the training but cannot sit the examination has nothing to show for the year.

A monthly gift- KES 1,000 to 5,000 compounds. Small monthly donations from many supporters add up to full scholarships.

• Young people from underserved regions– bright minds from rural Kenya, refugee settlements and towns with no training infrastructure
• Students with no professional network, whose families cannot connect them to internships, jobs or mentors

Three ways to give

Direct student sponsorship. We match your gift with a specific student. You know their name, their programme and their goals, and you receive termly updates on their progress. Many sponsors go on to mentor the student they funded.

General scholarship fund. Your gift goes into the scholarship pool and is deployed where the need is greatest to a student a week away from dropping out, or a graduate launching a business.

Equipment and innovation fund. Your gift buys cameras, sewing machines, software licences and design tools. These are what let students work at industry standard.

• You are invited to our exhibitions, runway shows, screenings and graduation ceremonies

On tax treatment

Delight Technical College is registered with and accredited by TVETA under registration number TVETA/PRIVATE/TVC/0080/2022, and our programmes are examined by TVET CDACC and NITA. We issue full documentation for every gift. The tax treatment of a donation depends on how it is structured and on your own circumstances (please take your own advice, and we will support your accountant with whatever paperwork is required).
