NLP is one of the most commercially valuable areas of AI, and chatbot development is one of the most immediately practical skills for Kenyan AI practitioners. 🤖 How Chatbots Work- Three Levels

Rule-Based:

If the user says X, reply with Y. Fast to build, limited to anticipated inputs. Effective for specific, well-defined tasks like FAQ responses or appointment booking.

Intent-Recognition:

Identifies the user’s intent from their message and selects an appropriate response. Trained on examples of each intent (significantly more flexible than rule-based systems).

AI-Powered Conversational Agents:

Using large language models to generate contextually appropriate responses to any input like handling unexpected queries, maintaining context across a conversation, and producing surprisingly natural responses.
