When you walk up Muindi Mbingu Street in the heart of Nairobi’s CBD and see the busy campus of Delight Technical College, it’s easy to feel both inspired and a little overwhelmed. This college has built a strong reputation for practical, hands-on training in creative, technical, and media fields; and thousands of graduates have gone on to build careers or start businesses across Kenya and beyond.

Let’s walk through how you can turn your application into an acceptance; step by step.

 Why Delight Technical College?

Before applying, it helps to understand what makes Delight stand out:

  • TVETA‑accredited — recognized nationally (by TVETA, NITA, CDACC).
  •  Practical learning — focus on doing, not just theory.
  •  Experienced instructors with industry backgrounds.
  •  Entrepreneurship skills integrated into programs.
  •  Flexible learning — full‑time, part‑time, and online options.

Whether you dream of launching your own fashion brand, working in digital media, or mastering the latest in AI and ICT, Delight’s curriculum is built with your future in mind.

 Step 1: Choose Your Course

Delight offers courses across two main schools:

School of Tailoring, Fashion & Design (TVET‑CDACC & NITA)

Here your creativity meets craftsmanship. Popular programs include:

  • Diploma in Fashion Design (Level 6)
  • Higher Certificate – Fashion Design Technology (Level 5)
  • Certificate – Fashion Design Technology (Level 4)
  • Artisan Courses – Dressmaking & Tailoring (Level 3)
  • Tailoring Trade Test (Artisan, NITA)
  • Dressmaking Trade Test (Artisan, NITA)
  • Knitting Trade Test (Artisan, NITA)

These courses take you from basics to advanced skills and are perfect if you want a career in fashion, tailoring, garment production, or creative entrepreneurship.

School of Media & AI (TVET‑CDACC & NITA)

If you’re drawn to media and technology, check out:

  • Film Production – Diploma (Level 6)
  • Digital Journalism – Diploma (Level 6)
  • Artificial Intelligence – Diploma (Level 6)
  • ICT (Computer Operator) – NITA Artisan
  • Graphic Design – NITA Artisan
  • Photography – NITA Artisan
  • Videography – NITA Artisan

These programs equip you for careers in the booming digital and creative economy, from content creation to tech‑driven media roles.

Step 2: Know the Entry Requirements

Delight is designed to be accessible; whether you’re coming straight from school or returning to build new skills.

Minimum Academic Requirements

Delight follows standard TVET admission guidelines:

  • Diploma Programs: Minimum KCSE C‑ (minus) or equivalent.
  • Certificate Programs: Minimum KCSE D (plain) or equivalent.
  • Artisan Programs: KCPE or KCSE with any grade (including Level 1 entry).
  • Other Short Courses: Flexible entry (some require just KCPE or relevant interest).

In simple terms:

  • If you finished secondary school (KCSE) with at least a D‑ you can join certificate or artisan programs, and with a C‑ or higher you’re eligible for diploma courses.
  • If you only have a KCPE certificate, there are artisan and basic entry options too; so your education journey can start here.

Step 3: Gather Your Application Documents

When you’re ready to apply, make sure you have these:

  • Completed application/registration form
Copy of KCPE/KCSE certificate or result slip
Copy of your National ID or passport
Copy of birth certificate (if applicable)
    2 passport‑size photos

You can apply online or in person at the Delight campus reception.

Step 4: Submit Your Application

You can submit your documents in two ways:

  • Online: Fill the admissions form on the official Delight website.
  • In person: Visit the Delight Technical College campus at Muindi Mbingu Street, opposite Jevanjee Gardens, Nairobi CBD.

If you need help, reach out to the admissions team at +254 722 533 771 or +254 724 566 088.

Here’s a quick look at what to expect:
