Student Clubs and Associations at Delight: Building Community Beyond the Classroom
By Delight Technical College | Campus Life | 2026
Education happens in the classroom but professional development happens in the community. At Delight Technical College, student clubs and associations are a central part of campus life, giving students the opportunity to pursue their passions, develop leadership skills, build networks, and have fun. Here is a look at the clubs and associations available to Delight students.
🎨 The Fashion & Design Club
The Fashion & Design Club is the creative heart of the School of Tailoring, Fashion & Design student community. Members come together to share inspiration, collaborate on projects, and push the boundaries of their creative practice beyond what the formal curriculum demands.
What the Fashion Club does:
- Organises design challenges and creative competitions
- Collaborates on the planning and production of Delight’s annual fashion showcases
- Hosts workshops on specialist topics like African fashion, sustainable design, embroidery, and more
- Supports members in developing their personal design aesthetic and creative identity
- Connects members with industry mentors, designers, and fashion professionals
📸 The Photography & Visual Arts Club
For students in the School of Media & AI, the Photography & Visual Arts Club is a community for visual storytellers. It brings together photography, videography, graphic design, and film students in a shared creative space.
What the Photography Club does:
- Organises photo walks, shoots, and visual storytelling projects
- Runs peer critique sessions where members give and receive honest creative feedback
- Collaborates with the Fashion Club on styled editorial shoots
- Hosts screenings of inspiring photography books, documentaries, and filmmaker interviews
- Supports members in building and developing their professional portfolios
💡 The Innovation & Entrepreneurship Club
Open to students from both schools, the Innovation & Entrepreneurship Club is for students who want to build businesses not just build skills. It is the home of Delight’s most ambitious creative entrepreneurs.
What the Innovation Club does:
- Hosts pitch nights where student entrepreneurs present business ideas
- Runs business development workshops and guest speaker sessions
- Connects members with Delight’s wider entrepreneurship ecosystem and alumni network
- Supports teams entering national and regional entrepreneurship competitions
- Provides peer mentorship and accountability for students building businesses
👑 The Modelling and Performance Association
Distinct from the Modelling Club (which is a study mode), the Modelling and Performance Association is a student-led group that celebrates performance, presentation, and personal expression. It is closely linked to the Delight Modelling Club programme and to Delight’s major events.
🌍 The Cultural and Sustainability Society
Focused on celebrating African cultural heritage and advancing sustainability in the creative industries. Members organise cultural events, coordinate the Cloth Swap Drives, champion the Wear The Green campaign, and ensure that Delight’s cultural and environmental commitments remain active parts of campus life.
🏅 Student Leadership Body
Delight’s student leadership structure gives students a formal voice in campus governance. Student representatives engage with college leadership on matters of student welfare, academic standards and campus life developing leadership, advocacy, and communication skills in the process.
“The friendships, collaborations, and professional connections you build through Delight’s clubs are often the most valuable things you take out of your time here.”
💡 All Delight students are encouraged to join at least one club. Club participation is free and open to all enrolled students.
