Studying in Nairobi, Kenya, is a fantastic opportunity for Ethiopian students to gain practical, industry-relevant skills. If you’re in Addis Ababa and ready to pursue TVET training at Delight Technical College, here’s a step-by-step guide to help you through the application process:

✅ Step 1: Choose Your Course

Delight offers a wide range of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programs, including:

  • Fashion Design & Technology
  • Digital Media & Communication
  • Hospitality & Culinary Arts
  • Information Technology
  • Business and Entrepreneurship

Research the available courses and choose the one that aligns with your career goals. If you need guidance, Delight’s admissions team can help you make the right choice based on your interests.

📝 Step 2: Submit Your Application

To apply for TVET training, follow these steps:

  1. Visit Delight’s Official Website
Go to the Delight Technical College website to find the application form and further instructions.
  2. Complete the Online Application Form
Fill out the online application with your personal details, educational background, and course choice. Make sure you provide accurate information.
  3. Upload Required Documents
You will need to upload the following:

    • A copy of your high school certificate or equivalent qualification.
    • A passport-sized photo.
    • A copy of your valid passport (for international students).
    • Proof of any previous academic qualifications (if applicable).
    • English proficiency (if your primary language is not English).

💵 Step 3: Pay the Application Fee

  • Once your application form is complete, you will be asked to pay a non-refundable application fee (usually a small amount, payable online or via bank transfer).
  • Make sure to keep the payment receipt as you may need it later in the process.

🌐 Step 4: Wait for Admission Notification

  • After submitting your application and payment, Delight’s admissions team will review your documents.
  • If accepted, you will receive an admission letter with further instructions on how to proceed.

🛂 Step 5: Apply for a Kenyan Student Pass

Once you’ve been admitted, you will need to apply for a Kenyan Student Pass to study in Nairobi:

  1. Create an account on the eCitizen portal: Go to eCitizen Kenya and create an account.
  2. Fill out the Student Pass application: Complete the form and upload the required documents, including your admission letter and passport.
  3. Pay the application fee: The Student Pass fee is typically $50–$100.
  4. Wait for approval: Processing can take 2–4 weeks, so apply early.

✈️ Step 6: Travel from Addis Ababa to Nairobi

  • Flights: The most convenient way to travel from Addis Ababa to Nairobi is by air. Flights are frequent, and the journey typically takes around 3 hours.
  • Visa on Arrival: Ethiopian passport holders don’t need a visa for short stays in Kenya (up to 90 days). For a long-term study, your Student Pass will be your main travel document.

🏠 Step 7: Accommodation & Settling In

Delight Technical College offers support with finding student accommodation close to the Nairobi campus. You can also explore private hostels or shared apartments in Nairobi.

💼 Step 8: Orientation and Classes Begin

  • Once you arrive in Nairobi, Delight will provide an orientation program to familiarize you with college life and academic expectations.
  • You will also receive information about student support services, including career counseling, networking opportunities, and more.
