How to Apply for Scholarships as a South Sudanese Student at Delight Technical College

Delight Technical College welcomes students from across East Africa, including South Sudan, and offers a range of scholarships to ensure that quality education is accessible and affordable. If you’re a South Sudanese student with big dreams but limited finances, here’s a step-by-step guide to help you apply for scholarships at Delight:

📝 Step 1: Choose Your Course of Study

Before applying for a scholarship, you need to decide which program you want to enroll in. Delight offers a variety of technical and vocational courses in:

• Fashion & Design
• Media & Communication
• ICT & Digital Skills
• Business & Entrepreneurship
• Hospitality, Health, and more

💡 Tip: Choose a course that aligns with your career goals and passions.

📚 Step 2: Check Scholarship Availability

Delight Technical College offers different types of scholarships for South Sudanese students:

• Merit-Based Scholarships – For students with strong academic performance or outstanding skills.
• Need-Based Scholarships – For those who demonstrate financial hardship.
• Talent Scholarships – For students excelling in creative fields like fashion, art, or media.
• Partner Organization Sponsorships – Provided through NGOs, churches, or international development groups that work with Delight.

Visit the Delight Technical College website or contact the admissions office to confirm which scholarships are currently available.

📄 Step 3: Prepare Your Documents

To apply for a scholarship, you will usually need the following:

• A copy of your national ID or passport
• Your KCSE results or equivalent academic transcripts
• A recommendation letter from a teacher, community leader, or mentor
• A personal statement or motivation letter (why you need the scholarship and your future goals)
• Proof of financial need (if applying for a need-based scholarship)
• Portfolio (for creative or media programs)

💡 Tip: Your personal statement is your voice—make it honest and inspiring.

📤 Step 4: Submit Your Scholarship Application

You can submit your scholarship application in one of two ways:

1. Online via the Delight admissions portal or email
2. In person at the Delight Technical College campus in Nairobi

Be sure to submit both your college admission application and the scholarship application together or within the same period.

🕐 Step 5: Application Review and Interview

After submitting your application:

• The admissions and scholarship committee will review your documents.
• You may be invited for an interview (online or in-person) to further assess your eligibility and motivation.
• Some scholarships may require you to complete a short aptitude test or project sample (especially for creative programs).

✅ Step 6: Receive Scholarship Decision

If selected, you’ll receive an official scholarship offer letter, stating:

• The amount covered (full or partial tuition)
• Terms and conditions (e.g., maintaining good academic performance)
• Next steps for confirming your place at the college

If you’re not selected, don’t give up—you can still apply for other funding options or ask the admissions office about installment payment plans.
