African Fashion Week: Delight Students Take the Stage
Delight Technical College once again made a bold statement on the continental runway as its top fashion students graced African Fashion Week, showcasing not only their talent—but the power of hands-on, African-centered technical training.
✨ A Moment of Pride for East African TVET
With vibrant prints, innovative tailoring, and culturally inspired designs, Delight’s student collections stole the spotlight, earning praise from industry professionals, influencers, and international buyers.
🎤 “We’re not just students—we’re storytellers. Our clothes represent the spirit of a rising Africa,” said Aisha from Uganda, a finalist in the “New African Designers” category.
👗 From the Classroom to the Catwalk
The students’ work reflects the practical, entrepreneurial training they receive at Delight—especially in:
- Computer-Aided Design (CAD) for fashion
- Textile selection and sustainability
- Branding and fashion marketing
- Cultural fashion fusion
Their collections drew inspiration from East African heritage—with Maasai beadwork, Congolese wax prints, and Swahili embroidery seamlessly integrated into modern silhouettes.
🌍 Pan-African Representation
Delight’s presence was proudly pan-African, with student designers from:
- Kenya
- Uganda
- Tanzania
- Rwanda
- Somalia
- DRC
- South Sudan
This diversity didn’t just show up on the runway—but in backstage collaboration, media interviews, and networking sessions, making Delight a true ambassador of African unity through design.
💼 Fashion Meets Future Careers
Participation in African Fashion Week opens doors for students to:
