The Level 6 Diploma in Fashion Design is the most advanced fashion qualification at Delight Technical College. It is also the most comprehensive, covering everything from industrial management to computer-aided design. Here is a complete, module-by-module breakdown of exactly what you will learn across Terms 5, 6, and 7 of the programme.

📅 Module V- Level 6, Term Five

  1. Industrial Organisation Management (100 hours, 9 hrs/week)

This module introduces students to how fashion businesses and garment factories are structured and managed. You will learn about workflow planning, quality systems, team management, and production scheduling essential knowledge for anyone who wants to run a design business or work in a production environment.

  1. Garment Cutting (100 hours, 9 hrs/week)

Advanced garment cutting techniques beyond basic pattern cutting covering industrial cutting methods, cutting plans, fabric lay-up, and efficiency in fabric use.

  1. Children’s Wear (240 hours, 22 hrs/week)

A specialist module focused on designing and producing clothing for children. Children’s wear has unique design requirements which include safety, durability, ease of movement, and age-appropriate aesthetics all come into play.

📅 Module VI- Level 6, Term Six

  1. Quality Control Principles (100 hours, 9 hrs/week)

Quality control is what separates professional fashion production from amateur work. This module covers inspection techniques, quality standards, defect identification, and implementing quality systems in a production environment.

  1. Computer-Aided Design- CAD (100 hours, 9 hrs/week)

One of the most forward-thinking modules in the programme. CAD allows designers to create, visualize, and modify designs digitally before cutting a single piece of fabric. Students learn industry-standard design software used by fashion houses globally.

  1. Fashion Accessories (240 hours, 22 hrs/week)

A creatively rich module covering the design and production of accessories like bags, belts, jewellery, hats, and other items that complete a fashion look. Accessories are a highly profitable niche in the fashion industry.

📅 Module VII- Level 6, Term Seven

  1. Research Methods (80 hours, 7 hrs/week)

Prepares students for academic progression and professional research. Covers how to conduct fashion research, analyze trends, and present findings which are essential for anyone considering Level 7 (university) progression.

  1. Elective A- Sports & Uniform Wear (200 hours, 18 hrs/week)

“Level 6 is not just advanced fashion training, it is a comprehensive preparation for fashion industry leadership.”
